Who we are

Hi! I’m Krista and this is my goofy girl Luna. We spend lotsa time adventuring in the woods and she is my inspiration to explore, push my boundaries, and have fun. Thus, the launching of this spin-off of my fine art at kristatownsend.com where I really investigates the nearby woods and take it all pretty damn seriously. This venture is a bit more wacky and fun! Pet portraits, t-shirts, painted pottery, and more affordable and whimsey paintings and prints.

Why 712 Crows?

Well, we think birds are amazing. Lu doesn’t even chase them on our adventures. Must be respect! And I think crows are some of the coolest most bad-ass birds out there. They are clever, crafty, bossy, and they take care of each other. A community of crows is called a murder. Doesn’t get more bad-ass! But how many crows are in a murder? Could it be 712 or maybe that’s just my birthday!

This little biz is about creating crafty, clever things and connecting and building community.

Who’s in my murder?

First murder members are my sister and her partner and my niece. We’re designing and screen printing t-shirts. My sister’s pottery will also be available on 712 Crows.

My friend Tori is also building a new business called Two Owls Outdoor Tours and we are exploring this brand making and community building together. Check out her new site and follow her on instagram.

As this grows, I hope to add more creatives to my murder.
